HybridInformation Technology$225k–$265k/yrFull-time

About the role

Ibotta is seeking a Senior Director of UX to lead Product Design, UX Research, and Content Design disciplines across the organization. This role reports to the CTO and sits alongside peers in Product, Engineering, and Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Own the UX vision, strategy, and quality standards across Ibotta’s consumer and B2B product lines, and ensure they are reflected in how products are planned, built, and measured
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members across Product Design, UX Research, and Content Design, including two Directors
  • Establish and defend clear norms for how, when, and where UX is involved in the product development lifecycle, from early problem discovery through delivery
  • Serve as a strategic partner to peers in Product, Engineering, and Analytics, ensuring user-centered thinking is woven into product strategy rather than applied downstream
  • Shape Ibotta’s approach to product development as AI changes what is possible and who can build, including evolving the UX team’s operating model, tools, and points of involvement
  • Drive investment in design systems, content standards, and research infrastructure that allow quality to scale without proportional headcount growth
  • Represent UX in senior and executive leadership forums, contributing to company strategy with a perspective grounded in user insight and experience quality
  • Foster a team culture of ownership, craft, candor, and continuous learning
  • Embrace and uphold Ibotta’s Core Values: Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, Transparency, & A Good Idea Can Come from Anywhere

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in UX, product design, or a related discipline, including 5+ years leading multi-discipline UX teams (design, research, and/or content)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or a related field required. Advanced degree is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience building and maturing UX organizations, not just managing them. You have defined quality standards, operating models, and team structures, and have evolved them as the business and industry changed
  • Experience operating as a peer to Product, Engineering, and business leaders, including navigating competing priorities, influencing without authority, and representing the UX perspective in consequential decisions
  • A seasoned, well-articulated point of view on how UX delivers value in a product organization, particularly the critical importance of upstream involvement in problem discovery, strategic framing, and experience coherence
  • Active engagement with how AI is transforming UX practice. You don’t need to be a technical expert, but you should have a perspective on how AI changes your team’s workflows, what it means for design systems and research methods, and how it shifts the role of UX in product development
  • Experience across both direct to consumer and B2B product contexts, or an innate ability to adapt your approach across audiences and business models. Experience in adtech or performance marketing is a plus

Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to make complex UX concepts accessible to non-design audiences and to influence senior stakeholders through clear, evidence-based framing

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a senior leadership role
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, balancing long-term strategic thinking with the pragmatism required to keep a team delivering in a fast-paced, post-IPO environment
