Sr Director, Patient Access

About the role

Ensemble is a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems, including hospitals and affiliated physician groups. This position is responsible for administering and reviewing the performance of patient access functions, identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promoting operational efficiency, enhancing the patient experience, and meeting regulatory compliance guidelines. Travel to other facilities within the market will be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for on-site Patient Access staff within a specific hospital or market, including direction to all admitting and registration teams across all entry points.
• Establish positive, collaborative relationships with operational leaders at specific sites or markets.
• Organize functions through clear accountabilities, delegation of duties, and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos.
• Develop and maintain an effective, visible, and well-respected team by selecting, evaluating, coaching, and managing the performance of qualified professionals.
• Negotiate and recruit with other department managers for cross-training and support as necessary.
• Promote team-building relationships across all areas of responsibility.
• Work collaboratively with all managers/team leaders to ensure a successful and compliant revenue cycle process.
• Accountable for a comprehensive and effective communication strategy that promotes employee engagement, productivity, and morale.
• Promote a culture of two-way communications and create opportunities for staff participation, including regular assessments and educational opportunities.
• Determine appropriate staffing levels, monitor compensation, and strengthen recruiting and retention processes.
• Direct hiring and training for leadership and patient access staff.
• Manage the budget.
• Round at/travel to other facilities within the market on a regular basis.
• Demonstrate advanced usage of AI and manage teams using AI to improve processes and technological advancements, including exploration, experimentation, and application of AI.
• May be required to perform other job-related duties as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• 5+ years of Patient Access experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare provider finance operations or similar service environment required.
• Financial and project management experience.
• Experience setting strategies aimed at increasing associate engagement.
• Flexible and available to work outside of regular business hours when needed.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CRCR certification required within the first 9 months of hire.
• CHAM certification preferred.

Pay

This position pays between $101,600 - $127,000 based on experience.
