Sr Director Life Underwriting

This role supports financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation, influencing enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Manage life underwriting risk assessment processes impacting company performance and producer satisfaction
• Coordinate with various departments to establish underwriting strategies and optimize risk selection
• Oversee specialty teams within the underwriting department
• Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external customers
• Leverage data analytics for mortality and morbidity assessments
• Notify stakeholders on underwriting guideline variations
• Set and align departmental goals with company objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business field or equivalent experience
• Expert knowledge of life insurance underwriting processes and procedures
• Eight years of leadership experience, preferably in life insurance
• FALU, FLMI, CLU, or similar professional designations
• Experience leading strategic plans' development, execution, and measurement
• Ability to devise strategies that resolve business challenges
• Strong business judgment and customer-focused relationship building capabilities

Pay

$200,000 – $233,000 annually
