About the Role

Develops strategies for and is accountable for the HEOR function's successful execution of product/disease-specific projects to determine and express the healthcare value of Neurocrine marketed products or developmental compounds. Works closely with the U.S. Product Development Team, key stakeholders within the Medical Affairs team, Brand Team, Clinical Team, and departments dedicated to Managed Care or Health Care Advocacy to develop information that allows patients, clinicians, and payers to make informed healthcare decisions regarding Neurocrine products.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategy and operational plans for the HEOR function and collaborates with senior leadership and peers across the organization for broader functional strategy development.
  • Sets strategy, designs, develops, and implements projects to assist in the creation of product-specific evidence to inform value assessment and market access.
  • Acts as the U.S. brand lead for HEOR content and support.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners to meet the evidence needs of external consumers.
  • Manages vendors and relationships from selection to potential termination.
  • Assists in meeting corporate goals and is accountable for meeting functional goals.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Provides direction to subordinate managers in various areas, groups, and/or operations.
  • Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business/scientific problems that impact success or address future processes/outcomes.
  • Applies advanced analytical thought and judgment.
  • Develops new or innovative solutions to existing and/or novel problems.
  • Regularly interacts with senior leadership to influence policy and negotiate decisions within the area of responsibility.
  • Represents Neurocrine at professional events and may present data and findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MS degree in health outcomes/economics or related field AND 13+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a HEOR role with direct research experience preferred.
  • OR PhD or PharmD in health outcomes/economics or related field AND 10+ years of similar experience.
  • Extensive previous managerial and leadership experience required.
  • Exhibits ability to become a company-wide advisor and emerging industry expert.
  • Demonstrated strategy development and implementation within areas of responsibility.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of own function and broad knowledge of multiple functions and their impact on business.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability, including influencing across many levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage, mentor, and train personnel, and motivate and influence personnel to achieve goals.
  • Expertise in real-world evidence creation using claims and/or other healthcare encounter databases.
  • Strong written communication skills, including publication/medical writing.
  • Proven experience in the creation of U.S.-based HTA submission materials (AMCP format Dossier, Budget Impact Models, Cost-effectiveness/offset models, ICER submissions, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze and summarize data, think critically, manage projects, influence others, and work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge in research protocol and analysis plan development, analysis of large databases, and possible economic modeling.
  • Proven ability to engage large U.S.-based payors or HTA organizations.
  • Excellent SAS or other statistical programming skills.

Pay

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $240,700.00 - $328,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program.
