About the role

This is not a run-of-the-morning DBA position… this is a Senior Leadership role responsible for the reliability, performance, and evolution of XiFin’s core database platforms that underpin our SaaS revenue cycle systems. You may be hired as a Director, Sr. Director, or AVP based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, engineer, design, implement and manage database services and responsible for the configuration, maintenance and capacity planning for technologies in scope.
  • Execute project engineering and solution processes & functions for technologies in scope. Responsible and accountable for service and project delivery.
  • Develop, implement, execute & communicate the database architecture, engineering & standards strategy and for its operational usage across the enterprise for technologies in scope.
  • Implement the strategy for XiFin’s operational OLTP and Analytics platforms.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with strategic partners from within XiFin Engineering, Infrastructure, and business partners, as well as all database related external outsourced IT infrastructure service providers serving XiFin.
  • Develop and manage the technology lifecycle & roadmap for the technologies in scope, including technology absorption & risk, technology refresh, migration & retirement strategies.
  • Stay abreast of technical trends and directions in the technology & vendor communities and identify new opportunities for use of this technology at XiFin.
  • Execute capacity planning and monitoring processes for technologies in scope.
  • Develop, monitor, report and present key database performance metrics for technologies in scope.
  • Maintain and administer the stability of the enterprise database environment. Ensure recoverability meeting business requirements, database system performance meeting business requirements, database system availability meeting business requirements and data integrity.
  • Develop and govern proper database security to protect corporate databases against external and internal unauthorized access.
  • Working with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies.

Qualifications

  • A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Masters Degree preferred and/or equivalent experience required.
  • 10 years or more technical database leadership and administration experience required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in selecting, design engineering, solution engineering, project engineering, integrating and implementing database services architecture and related technologies comparable to XiFin architectures, size and complexity.
  • Demonstrated effective decision making that had significant impact on database technology direction and related business results.
  • Healthcare (HIPAA) background preferred, but not necessary.
  • Strong background and understanding of the technical direction in this space and the prevailing standards.
  • Deep and effective understanding of database architectures, design, configuration, implementation, operations support & troubleshooting skills with database, data warehouse, data replication, OLTP, OLAP, DSS, reporting and analytical technologies.
  • Oracle Certified Master: Database & Enterprise Architect
  • Deep & broad knowledge of full range of DBMS technologies, data replication, architectural patterns, design standards and options.
  • Deep Technical knowledge of database services systems management tools.
  • Technologies in Scope (Required): Oracle EE Database 19c & 26ai, Oracle Exadata, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is: $166,967 - $220,000. Depending on your qualifications, you may be considered for either an Director, Sr. Director, or AVP.

Schedule

This position will be located at our offices in San Diego, CA.
