About the role
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our global client payroll operations department. This role requires strategic leadership, strong operational expertise, and a deep understanding of payroll processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the client payroll operations department, overseeing all aspects of global payroll processing, including data entry, validation, calculation, and distribution.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize payroll processes, enhance operational efficiency, and improve service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to payroll processing and client service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, client services, and IT, to align payroll operations with client needs and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships and addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to payroll operations, tracking performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and protocols for payroll processing and client service.
- Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on payroll operations performance, issues, and opportunities.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in payroll processing, technology, and client service, leveraging knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in global payroll operations management (as a service), with a proven track record of successfully leading and managing payroll teams.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, systems, and regulations, with experience in both domestic and international payroll operations.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement initiatives to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll processing and client service.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
Qualifications
- Salary Range is between $170,000 - $200,000 based on experience, qualifications and location.
