Sr Dir DCC, Sys Restoration & Reliability

Senior-level management position reporting to the Vice President, Electric Delivery. Responsible for directing all related activities and overseeing Electric Delivery operations resources assigned to the Bearrs Operations Center (BOC).

Responsibilities

• Maintain an efficient, highly motivated organization committed to fulfilling the mission and achieving the goals of both the department and the company.
• Provide leadership for the department on a day-to-day basis by articulating and communicating the company position on critical issues.
• Assure safe work practices are utilized by all team members.
• Direct service restoration for residential, commercial, and industrial customers served through Tampa Electric’s distribution system on a 24-hour basis via appropriate dispatch of distribution center operations.
• Direct timely normal and emergency response to system disturbances such as severe storms, overloads, electrical contacts, firm load curtailment, voltage control, and any potential hazards to the public.
• Ensure appropriate interaction with and notification to Customer Care, service areas, and top management regarding system disturbances.
• Coordinate pre-hurricane preparations, immediate system restoration and clearance after storm passage, and manage maintenance of the unaffected system during post-hurricane restoration efforts.
• Direct the evaluation of distribution system performance and analysis of outage information, identifying trends and recommending solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all existing legal requirements of the Florida Public Service Commission regarding documentation and filing of required reliability reports.
• Direct functions including Energy Delivery Emergency Response Planning, relationship with the Emergency Management Community, Energy Delivery Incident Command System Plan, Energy Delivery Mock Storm Exercise, and Mutual Assistance Coordination for Tampa Electric.
• Provide direction for Energy Delivery maintenance programs, including distribution wood pole inspection and maintenance, streetlight relamping, and padmounted equipment painting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).
• 10 years of experience in engineering, technical, and/or operations, with operations experience required.
• 5 years of successful supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership skills and sound judgment.
• Effective communicator, sensitive to customer needs.
• Ability to work significant overtime and maintain 100% on-call availability.

Schedule

8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.

Additional Information

Responding to storms is a condition of employment. Team members are required to participate in emergency response/recovery activities to maintain service to customers, including working in normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be provided in accordance with company rules and procedures.
