Job Title Sr Developer Job Number 3.6 Position Type Full-Time Location: Hybrid (Reston, VA) Days Remote 3–4 days remote Position Summary The Sr Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native application services for an AWS-based federal platform. Working as part of an Agile development team, this role designs and implements complex application features, develops secure and maintainable code, participates in automated testing and peer code reviews, mentors developers, and contributes to continuous integration and delivery activities. The Sr Developer collaborates closely with Technical Leads, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA engineers, and fellow developers while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality, productivity, and delivery efficiency. Key Responsibilities Design and implement complex cloud-native application features and services using an AWS technology stack. Develop clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested application code following established development standards and best practices. Participate in peer code reviews, automated testing, and code quality initiatives to ensure maintainable and reliable software. Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to support continuous software delivery. Utilize AI-assisted software development tools, including Amazon Q Developer, to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and developer productivity. Troubleshoot, optimize, and strengthen production applications to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA engineers, and development teams to refine requirements and successfully deliver application features. Minimum Experience 7+ years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS. Experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, and software development best practices. Experience working within Agile software development teams. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure software development practices. Mandatory Skills Software development using modern programming languages and frameworks. AWS cloud-native application development. CI/CD pipeline development and automation. Automated testing and software quality practices. Secure coding principles. Git or other version control systems. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. AI-assisted software development tools (including Amazon Q Developer or similar). U.S. Citizenship. Ability to pass a 7-year background investigation. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Clearance. Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (3–4 remote days) in Reston, VA, and client locations throughout the Washington, D.C. area as required. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Nice-to-Have Skills AWS Certified Developer – Associate or other relevant AWS certification. Experience developing serverless and event-driven applications on AWS.
