Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server in Azure and on-prem environments.
  • Support database migrations from on-prem to Azure, including validation, performance tuning, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and reliability issues using native tools and Datadog.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Use and help extend Liquibase for database schema and change management in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to database provisioning and configuration through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Collaborate with application and platform teams supporting Kubernetes-based workloads, ensuring databases integrate reliably with containerized applications.
  • Automate routine operational tasks using scripting where appropriate.
  • Follow and contribute to database security, compliance, and documentation standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for production database support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong (5-7 Years) hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server, including performance tuning and recovery.
  • 7+ Years experience operating databases in Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Working knowledge of Liquibase, Terraform, or similar tooling.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes environments and how databases support those workloads.
  • Experience (5-7 Years) with monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.

Pay Range

$115,500 - $192,500
