Sr. Database Administrator
About the role
We are seeking a SQL DBA with hands-on Databricks experience to support and optimize enterprise data platforms. This role combines strong database administration expertise with modern data engineering capabilities, focusing on performance, scalability and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor and maintain SQL Server databases
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization and troubleshooting
- Manage backups, restores and high availability (HA/DR) solutions
- Ensure database security, integrity and compliance
- Develop and manage data pipelines using Databricks
- Work with large-scale data processing using Spark (PySpark/Scala)
- Support ETL/ELT workflows and data transformations
- Optimize data processing for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data platform initiatives
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning and database optimization
- Automate Database server maintenance tasks through TSQL, PowerShell, and Python
- Hands-on experience with Databricks
- Experience with Spark (PySpark/Scala)
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipelines
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments
Preferred
- Experience with Delta Lake or data lake architecture
- DB2, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL knowledge
- Familiarity with CI/CD or DevOps tools
