Responsibilities

• Develop best practices for instrumentation and experimentation and communicate these to product engineering teams to support our mission.
• Solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches like Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, Econometrics, or similar fields.
• Use machine learning and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn to build and prototype analysis pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Researchers, and Data Engineers to build innovative experiences on Pinterest.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience analyzing data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
• Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data.
• Extensive experience with Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, Econometrics, or related fields.
• Experience using machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• A scientifically rigorous approach to analysis and data, with a strong sense of skepticism, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality, results-oriented output.
• Fluency in SQL and a scripting language like Python or R for manipulating large datasets with high dimensionality and complexity.
• Excellent communication skills to explain learnings to both technical and non-technical partners.
• A team player capable of partnering with cross-functional leadership to quickly turn insights into actionable steps.
