Pinterest is a platform where millions of people discover creative ideas, dreams, and plans for memorable moments. As a Data Scientist in our Core organization, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products, which serve hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop best practices for instrumentation and experimentation and communicate these to product engineering teams to support our mission.
• Solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches like Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, Econometrics, or similar fields.
• Use machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn to enhance product development.
• Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale, while maintaining a strong understanding of data structures and metrics.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to develop innovative experiences on Pinterest.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience analyzing data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
• Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data.
• Extensive experience using machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
• A scientifically rigorous approach to analysis and data, with a keen sense of skepticism, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality output.
• Fluency in SQL and a scripting language (Python or R) for manipulating large datasets with high dimensionality and complexity.
• Excellent communication skills to explain learnings to both technical and non-technical partners.
• A team player capable of partnering with cross-functional leadership to quickly translate insights into actionable steps.
