Sr Counsel, Production & Legal Affairs
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating development / production related agreements (e.g. rights acquisition, writer producer, non-writing EP and other similar agreements)
- Drafting and negotiating production related documents (including location agreements, leases, content/clip licenses)
- Rendering day-to-day production review (including script review and production clearance work, such as title clearance and fair use assessment)
- Providing legal advice to creative and production executives, and other production personnel
Requirements
- Solid understanding of copyright and issues involving right of publicity, defamation, and privacy
- Experience conducting chain of title review and assessment
- Ability to interpret and advise business executives about contracts generally
Skills
- Strong drafting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated, responsible, extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
About the Role
The Senior Counsel position will report into the production legal function. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for drafting and negotiating development / production related agreements, conducting production clearance reviews of content, and rendering legal advice with respect to Starz’s slate of original programming.

$170,000 - $210,000
