Sr. Cost Controls Professional - Tampa, FL

About the role

Join our Jacobs team in Tampa, FL as a Senior Cost Control professional, contributing to award-winning projects and solving critical global challenges. You will partner with Project Managers to ensure project cost awareness, risk mitigation, and strategic opportunities. This role involves client management, presentations, and interfacing with all levels of management. You will manage overall project or program cost controls, reporting, and compliance with execution strategies, working closely with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, IT, Accounting, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall project or program cost controls and reporting function.
• Interface with project team members, including Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Office Planning, IT, Accounting, Economics and Finance, Tax, Contracts, and Legal to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with execution strategy.
• Provide status reports and project reporting analyses to company and client management.
• Identify problems and coordinate with the project team to implement corrections.
• Ensure work is coordinated between departments and offices to meet project cost requirements.
• Prepare project cost controls plans, reports, financial summaries, and related activities for project management.
• Manage work processes and procedures for cost management.
• Evaluate projects at each stage of development to ensure cost and financial activities align with client/contractual obligations.
• Review contract drafts and related terms & conditions to ensure they meet project cost controls requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree).
• 10+ years of related cost controls experience in an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) environment.
• Experience in cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, and cost analysis.
• Experience in project controls, commercial operations, with an emphasis on project controls and financial issues.
• Project or Program-related experience is ideal.
• On-site work with our client in Tampa, FL is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Sciences, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Proficiency with Excel (macro-level), Databases (MS Access), Kahua, Power BI, and dashboard development.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $145,000.00. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
