Sr. Cost Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Cost Accountant to support a six-week Contract assignment in the Westchester County, NY area.. This hybrid opportunity combines on-site collaboration three days per week with remote work on the remaining two days. The role is suited for a detail-oriented finance specialist with a strong background in manufacturing environments who can provide accurate cost insights, strengthen overhead analysis, and contribute quickly in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities:• Analyze manufacturing costs, overhead spending, and standard cost structures to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improved financial performance.• Maintain and review standard costing data to help ensure product costing is accurate, consistent, and aligned with operational activity.• Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses for leadership, highlighting key drivers that affect margins and production expenses.• Partner with finance and operations stakeholders to evaluate inventory valuation, cost allocations, and the financial impact of manufacturing activity.• Support month-end cost accounting processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting tied to production and overhead.• Assess existing cost accounting practices and recommend improvements that enhance reporting quality, controls, and decision-making.• Provide accounting support related to manufacturing financial processes, including any relevant transition-related cost activities when needed.
