About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, self-directed accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership of complex accounting areas, and drives continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead core general ledger activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Perform detailed variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepaids, payroll-related accounts, fixed assets, and goodwill
- Own technical accounting areas such as lease accounting and depreciation schedules
- Drive improvements and automation in accounting workflows to increase efficiency and scalability
- Prepare and maintain audit-ready schedules and provide support for annual audits and quarterly reviews
- Develop and maintain standardized reconciliation and reporting templates
- Support compliance activities including sales tax filings and documentation
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and FP&A to improve data flow and month-end processes
- Monitor internal controls and support financial policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite or similar preferred)
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex accounting issues
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward certification
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with reporting tools, data environments, or accounting process automation
- Experience supporting audits and regulated reporting environments
