Sr. Copywriter
About the role
This Senior Copywriter role sits within Strategic Education, Inc.'s (SEI) Education Technology Services (ETS) marketing team, supporting two brands—Sophia Learning and Workforce Edge—as well as university partners, across a B2B2C audience. The Senior Copywriter creates compelling short- and longform copy across email, web, social, and campaign channels. This is a senior role for a strategic thought partner who shapes ideas as well as executes them, elevates the craft of the wider team, and is genuinely curious about performance data and how AI and generative engines are reshaping content discovery. A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating range across audiences (B2C, B2B) and formats (short- and longform) is required to have application reviewed further.
Responsibilities

- Craft channel- and platform-optimized messaging for email, paid social, landing pages, and other channels
- Maintain awareness of how content is surfaced and evaluated by AI and search
- Apply performance insights (engagement, conversion, search/AI-visibility) as a creative input
- Maintain ongoing awareness of workforce and higher education trends and competitive activity; translate insights into resonant messaging
- Experiment with agentic workflows, custom GPTs, and AI content tools; develop forward-looking point of view on content strategy and scale
- Fact-check and contextualize AI-generated content; write to E-E-A-T standards where applicable
- Ensure accuracy and substantiation of claims about credits, credentials, and outcomes
- Set editorial standards across the team; mentor and review other writers' work
- Steward brand voice across the organization
- Apply accessibility and inclusive-language best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, project management, SEO/growth, and data teams
- Manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Ability to mentor writers and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications
- Experience or strong demonstrated interest in AI-driven marketing, GEO/SEO, or content strategy
