Sr Controls Technician (Days 2-2-3 schedule)

Position: Senior Controls Technician

About the role

Transform our Bakery with your expertise in automated industrial machinery, packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes, PLC trouble shooting, electrical and mechanical drawings, installation and troubleshoot basic three phase motor control circuits, and breakdown analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provides input to managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval and training for packaging and processing equipment.
• Aids in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
• Aids in the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs.
• Supports project engineering in process areas.
• Supports controls in the manufacturing facility and assists plant mechanics in troubleshooting.
• Ensures documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures.
• Contributes to the development and management of controls related capital projects.
• Contributes to the determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manages process controls change control procedures for existing equipment.
• Works around moving machines – mixers, conveyor belts, and forklifts.

Requirements

• Understanding in automated industrial machinery, which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, etc. and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability and skills to troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware.
• Perform Allen-Bradley PLC programming implementing RSLogix5, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 software or equivalent.
• Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O and DeviceNet communication networks.
• Read electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s).
• Perform PID Loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures.
• Knowledge of programming languages relevant to PLCs.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLC controls, networking, and HMI systems.
• Initiate and develop control system modifications and new projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
• General knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Knowledge of Wiring, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems.
• Reading blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance leadership skills.
• Experience working with outside contractors and a high-performing, tenured team of technicians.

Skills

• Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware troubleshooting.
• RSLogix5, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 software programming.
• Industrial communication networks including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O and DeviceNet communication networks.
