Sr. Controls Specialist

Essential Duties

  • Perform analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up/checkout/debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and equipment modification.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts in support of plant goals.
  • Maintain and support the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) environment, including, but not limited to, PLC programming, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) configuration and programming, and logic maintenance.
  • Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.
  • Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.
  • Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations.
  • Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.

  • Communication: Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.
  • Managing Relationships: Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.
  • Planning and Organizing: Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.
  • Execution: Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.

Education/Experience

  • An Associate's degree coupled with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an industrial continuous process atmosphere. Demonstrated process control experience in defining, designing, installing and maintaining control logic systems and equipment.
  • Willingness to assume roles of team leader and team member when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An Advanced demonstrated communication skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an industrial continuous process atmosphere.
