About the role
The Sr Controls & Electrical Engineer leads the development and execution of medium to high complexity capital projects. They are responsible for leading the design, selection, installation, and commissioning of control systems and automated equipment, developing and assessing control systems for manufacturing environments, managing small capital projects including scope, cost, and schedule, ensuring compliance with industrial control network and cybersecurity standards, supporting startup, optimization, and troubleshooting, and partnering cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and vendors. They also train manufacturing and maintenance teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, selection, installation, and commissioning of control systems and automated equipment
- Develop and assess control systems for manufacturing environments
- Manage small capital projects including scope, cost, and schedule
- Ensure compliance with industrial control network and cybersecurity standards
- Support startup, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Partner cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and vendors
- Train manufacturing and maintenance teams
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- PLC/PAC programming (Rockwell, Siemens)
- HMI/SCADA (FactoryTalk, Ignition)
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to travel (~30%)
