About the role
The Sr. Contracts Manager supports the Integrated Defense business with programs totaling nearly $1 billion. They are part of a dynamic Contracts team that manages customer relationships, negotiates deals, and provides regulatory knowledge to customers. The role involves leading and developing Contract Administrators, managing proposal activities, and overseeing various contract types.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance for Contract Administrators, acting as a sponsor and coach for daily contractual activities, providing guidance on contractual/business issues, and assisting in preparing proposals, completing negotiations, and drafting contract terms.
- Grow and develop other Contract Administrators and Contract Managers through leadership.
- Champion strategic knowledge of the customer environment and business context for all contracting opportunities.
- Independently lead and manage proposal activities including, analysis of solicitations, developing strategies and recommendations, preparing terms and conditions, leading the development/writing of the cost volume and contracts documentation volume, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy, compliance and consistency, and conducting business risk assessment.
- Lead complex negotiations with an emphasis on implementing a strategy that creates a win/win situation.
- Serve as a trusted business advisor to the Strategic System management for contractual rights and obligations, risk mitigation alternatives, and business strategy.
- Ensure that all contractual arrangements offer the Company a reasonable probability of accomplishing the business objectives.
- Foster and maintain relationships with counterparts within the customer organization and between all functions within BAE Systems.
- Oversee management of multiple contract types, such as Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Time and Material, Cost Plus Incentive Fee, and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge and working understanding of the U.S. government acquisition and procurement environment, export, and FAR/DFAR regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with FAR and DFARS and DoD/Warrior policies and processes.
- Experience with commercial contracts, other transaction agreements, risk identification, and implementation strategies.
- Experience with all types of pricing activities (white papers, rough order of magnitude, competitive and sole source proposals).
Skills
- Knowledge of intellectual property.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.

Pay Information
Pay Information: Full-Time Salary Range: $134,640 - $228,888. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
