About the role

As a Sr. Continuous Improvement Engineer at Shutterfly, you will use Lean Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence. This role involves planning, scheduling, and implementing activities such as Kaizen on the production floor of our manufacturing facilities to improve KPI performance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction.
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Teach, lead, and coach cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Continuously improve processes on the production floor and transactional areas by collaborating with multiple functions such as logistics and merchandizing.
  • Define program objectives and scope clearly.
  • Evaluate and prioritize potential improvements based on gains and required effort.
  • Secure employee commitment for proactive change management.
  • Establish a clear and well-articulated implementation plan.
  • Set criteria for project success and prepare a sound statement of constraints, limiting factors, and financial business cases.
  • Implement principles of governance appropriately.
  • Resolve technical problems related to formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, and resource availability.
  • Identify intervention priorities and indicators.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of the current situation to accurately describe issues.
  • Specify deliverables, outcome indicators, and performance-measured indicators.
  • Identify available resources (e.g., people, material, and finances).
  • Map out in detail the desired situation.
  • Define methodology clearly.
  • Analyze options accurately, including impact and feasibility.
  • Specify obstacles and ways to overcome them through continuous improvement.
  • Monitor the implementation of solutions regularly to achieve objectives and expected benefits.

Qualifications

  • Black Belt or Shainin Journeyman certification (preferred).
