About the role

AWS Compliance & Security Assurance is seeking a Sr. Compliance Specialist to lead the Global Product Compliance (GTPC) team. The role involves developing and overseeing strategies for regulatory compliance across AWS's global operations, interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end governance controls, SOPs, and policy frameworks across Regulatory Operations
  • Regulatory research, intelligence management, agency engagement, change monitoring, records management, and compliance auditing
  • Define and execute a scalable regulatory research methodology at country and product level across all target markets
  • Operationalize engagement protocols and stakeholder maps for government contacts across all jurisdictions
  • Global regulatory change monitoring; maintain impact assessment frameworks quantifying risk to market access, timelines, and cost
  • Enforce records retention controls satisfying post-deployment audit requirements
  • Build audit checklists, sampling methodologies, and reporting templates delivering consistent execution regardless of jurisdiction
  • Synthesize compliance data and regulatory intelligence to surface emerging risks before they materialize
  • Maintain readiness dashboards with leading indicators and deliver insights translating regulatory complexity into business-impact language

Requirements

  • 5+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
  • 8+ years of regulatory frameworks and policy analysis methodologies experience
  • 10+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience
  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
  • 5+ years building and operating compliance controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks that have withstood regulatory audit scrutiny across international markets
  • Bachelor's degree in regulatory affairs, public policy, international trade, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience
  • Experience implementing scalable compliance solutions (technology, procedures, processes, etc.) in a regulated environment
  • Experience in data center, networking engineering, systems engineering or construction management with a good understanding of data center technologies such as power, cooling and controls systems
  • Deep expertise in international certification schemes (CB Scheme, CE marking, FCC, ISED, MIC) and post-market surveillance obligations, with experience navigating scheme requirements to unblock hardware shipments across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously
  • Experience deploying identity and access management or version control systems within compliance workflows to improve traceability and audit readiness
  • Master's degree or professional certification (RAC, CRCM, PMP, or equivalent regulatory/governance credential)
