About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Lender to join our Commercial Banking team. In this role, you will generate and maintain business relationships, developing and managing credit and non-credit relationships with commercial customers, corporate accounts, and prospects. Your goal will be to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction in alignment with bank objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a commercial customer portfolio with a strong emphasis on both deposits and loans.
- Regularly visit clients and prospective clients to analyze their financial structures and recommend appropriate products or services.
- Compile loan packages and financial proposals, facilitating negotiations on loan structure, including amount, term, pricing, fees, repayment options, and other credit terms.
- Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and the credit team, resolving questions throughout the loan process.
- Review and analyze commercial loan reports, including direct liability, non-performing loans, new loans, and payments.
- Ensure timely loan closing and funding activities.
- Build trust with clients by understanding their needs and educating them on bank products and services tailored to their situations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial credit with an established portfolio of commercial customers.
- Effective sales ability and persuasiveness.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Pay
Base salary for this position in New York City generally ranges between $170,000 and $185,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. This does not include incentive compensation, commission, or other remuneration.
