Sr. Commercial Closing Specialist

Position Summary

Responsible for placing needed search work with commercial vendors, reviewing purchase agreements, tracking orders, opening new title orders, and reviewing when received to advance to a Title Examiner. Ensures compliance with company policies, U.S. state and federal laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review order files, identify and request necessary documents.
  • Track and manage documents, including recorded and trailing documents due post-close.
  • Prepare wires, prepare Closing Disclosures according to directions, and record documents.
  • Verify liens, update lien releases/taxes, and other information as needed.
  • Correspond with lenders, borrowers, and/or individuals/entities as directed by Director or Title Examiners.
  • Review owner/loan policies for accuracy and escrow letter requirements before distribution to clients.
  • Organize and audit files after closing for returned recorded documents, excess funds collected, and follow-up for release documents.
  • Prepare ALTA Settlement Statements in accordance with client instructions and wire funds.
  • Review, prepare recording fee calculations, and record courtesy documents packages from clients.
  • Aid in resolving issues related to orders, closings, funding, and other tasks within the commercial group with minimal assistance.
  • Perform cross-training with Team Lead to enhance departmental efficiency and serve as backup as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in the Mortgage industry
  • Mortgage title experience preferred
  • Ramquest production system knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
