About the Role
The Sr. Colorist will maintain color quality and aesthetic for the Savage X Fenty brand. This role requires a strong understanding of textiles, color, and prints, along with exceptional organization and prioritization skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-oriented, and passionate about fostering positive cross-functional relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the point person to visually approve all lab dips, bulk, and trim cards for multiple fabrications and product types from various vendors.
- Partner with the design team to request all seasonal color standards and initiate lab dips and strike-offs for all raw materials.
- Manage approval dates and update color status charts, including inputting all color comments.
- Communicate daily with factories regarding color development and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and organize the color standard library by season.
- Create, organize, and maintain folders for all submits across seasons.
- Ensure consistency in color names and numbers across all charts.
- Prepare and send packages containing color standards, lab dips, or trim cards as needed.
- Order and maintain up-to-date Pantone books.
- Create and update the Standard Operation Procedure Manual.
- Demonstrate foundational AI literacy, including experience using generative AI tools to drive productivity and innovation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in print and color development.
- Expertise in the textile printing industry, including print techniques and repeat patterns.
- Ability to advise the Design and CAD Team on color, print, and technique limitations (e.g., foil, silicone print) before submissions to mills and vendors.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills with mills and factories.
- Bachelor’s degree in textile design or a related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of dyeing and printing techniques on lace and embroidery.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Superior score on the Munsell 100-hue color test and strong knowledge of light booth settings.
Location
This role is based at our El Segundo Headquarters.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000–$91,000. The offered base salary will depend on factors such as work experience, subject matter expertise, and work location.
