Sr. Cold Room Automation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Cold Room Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, construction, commissioning, startup, qualification, validation, and operation of CO2 cold chain systems in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, construction, commissioning, startup, qualification, validation, and operation of CO2 cold chain systems in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Serve as a technical SME supporting cold room automation, refrigeration technologies, ASRS-enabled cold storage systems, and integrated automation platforms.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Support QA, CSV, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 10+ years of industrial refrigeration and cold room design experience
• 5+ years of CO2 refrigeration/cold room design and operation experience
• Experience with automated cold storage systems (ASRS preferred)
• Strong CQV, Validation, Commissioning, and Startup experience
• Knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, OT/IT Integration, and Industrial Networks
• Strong understanding of GMP/GxP regulated environments
• Strong project leadership and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
