Sr. CNC Machinist - Weekend Day Shift

About the role

You'll join our Machine Shop as a Senior CNC Machinist, performing set-ups, modifications, and creating programs, and operating various types of Swiss Machines. You'll also train other machinists, provide leadership to inexperienced machinists, and ensure high-quality products are produced on time to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex setups from programs on multiple machine types to ensure parts conform to print and process specifications.
• Assist and act as a technical resource for other machinists and mentor NIMS Apprentice Students.
• Troubleshoot issues with setups and tooling, change setup sheets as needed, and adjust the machining process to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
• Determine program edits and troubleshoot, reason, and understand program and part requirements to adjust speeds and feeds for proper and efficient machining.
• Sharpen, grind, and modify tooling, and accurately inspect finished parts using microscopes, tool maker's scope, micrometers, OGP, gage pins, thread gages, indicators, and calipers.
• Adjust machine offsets to achieve required tolerances.
• Maintain adherence to production schedules and ensure quality inspections are completed according to established procedures.

Requirements

• AAS degree or Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacturing or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Swiss Machining environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
