Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machine programs to manufacture complex parts and components.
- Develop and maintain set up and production documentation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to address design for manufacturability concerns.
- Analyze and optimize existing programs for enhanced productivity and quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs to resolve issues and improve machining processes.
- Optimize tool paths and cutting parameters for efficient and accurate machining.
- Mentor machinists and programmers on programming techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth production processes.
- Share knowledge and expertise to improve overall machining capabilities.
- Maintain print control through updates of programs and deletions of obsolete prints and programs.
- Keep abreast of the latest technology regarding areas of expertise and make recommendations to implement where feasible.
- Troubleshoot quality problems by effectively utilizing process control and corrective actions.
- Perform tool checks, order tooling, and fabricate tooling prints.
- Strive to increase production and streamline set-ups for optimum efficiencies and quality.
- Maintain a high level of efficient production.
- Maintain a no reject quality level.
- Supports activities required to implement and maintain the Company’s strategic and departmental objectives.
- Effectively communicate with other departments, supervisors, and managers, including participation in meetings as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant machining experience and/or a combination of work/education experience.
- Minimum 2 years in Lead/SME role preferred.
- Experience in CAD/CAM software (ESPRIT, PartMaker, GibbsCAM, SolidWorks).
- Programming of 3-5 Axis CNC Milling Machines (Vertical, Horizontal).
- Expertise in CNC programming languages (G&M-code, Macros, Variables etc.).
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials (SST, SST Alloys, Titanium, Peek, and precious metals).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Mentoring and training experience (Required).
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (G&M-code, Macros, Variables etc.)
- Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials (SST, SST Alloys, Titanium, Peek, and precious metals)
