About the role
The Sr. Closing Manager will assist in overseeing all responsibilities assigned to the Standard Loan Closing Team, including all aspects of closing and funding loan transactions in accordance with program requirements and internal policies and procedures. This role will manage the processes, systems, and personnel associated with Standard loan closing functions across all programs and products. The Sr. Closing Manager will act as a player-coach, preparing loan documents, coordinating with legal counsel, title and escrow, closing loans, and performing post-closing tasks, in addition to managing other loan closing and documentation staff. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the loan closing team, including measuring Key Performance Indicators and reporting to management and executive teams.
- Ensure loans are closed within required time frames.
- Interface with clients, legal counsel, title companies, escrow agents, business development officers, and underwriters as needed.
- Review loan files to ensure accurate closing and provide Quality Assurance where needed.
- Ensure collateral is perfected in accordance with loan approval, including proper filing of mortgages and UCC filings.
- Work closely with the loan documentation team to review documentation against approvals and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure loans are disbursed appropriately, documentation is maintained, and the correct funding source is utilized.
- Facilitate client introduction to loan servicing.
- Prepare reports for the Board of Directors and CBO as needed.
- Focus on customer retention and communication.
- Customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Requirements
- Previous Closing Management experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 7 years of equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of financial services work experience.
- Current experience with Federal loan program policies and documentation requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Salesforce.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff in a remote environment and in a busy setting.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and active listening skills.
- Sophisticated word processing and computer database skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, operations, and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines, including extended work hours.

Pay
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $110,000 annually. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on job-related skills, experience, and state of residence.
Physical Requirements
This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting (approximately 95%), repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It may also require occasional standing, lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs, walking, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above the shoulder.
