Sr. Claim Specialist (Michigan Liability) – Fremont

About the role

The Auto Club Group is seeking a Senior Claim Specialist to handle complex claims, particularly those involving litigation and bodily injury. This position offers a competitive salary range of $76,772 to $102,000, along with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Review and contact insureds and other parties involved in claims
• Set expectations and initiate documentation in the claim handling system
• Complete coverage analysis and identify policyholder benefits
• Create sub-claims and conduct thorough damage evaluations
• Evaluate financial value of losses and approve payments
• Refer claims to other units as necessary
• Document and complete claim closure activities
• Utilize strong negotiation skills
• Handle complex claims involving liability disputes, bodily injuries, and coverage questions

Requirements

• Education: Complete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or equivalent
• Experience: Five years of experience in complex claim settlements, evidence preparation, subrogation, and coverage questions
• Knowledge: Advance knowledge of Essential Insurance Act (Michigan), Fair Trade Practices Act, subrogation procedures, and litigation
• Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• License: Valid driver's license required for certain roles
