About the role

We are seeking a talented and driven Sr. Chemical Process Engineer to join our team in Luling, TX. This role involves overseeing energetic chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of energetic chemical manufacturing processes
  • Work directly with operators to ensure safe production according to key process and product characteristics
  • Monitor systems for compliance with environmental regulations
  • Provide onsite technical support to operators regarding process characteristics and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot processes in a production facility to maintain operational efficiency
  • Conduct safety analyses of new and existing equipment
  • Assist in equipment testing, operator training, and plant start-up, shutdown, and maintenance activities
  • Serve as subject matter expert during emergency and abnormal operations
  • Assist with design work for capital improvement projects, including generating P&ID schematics
  • Optimize workflows by creating procedures and process flow documentation
  • Maintain safety and environmental standards
  • Develop methods to minimize by-products and waste materials in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements (throughput, safety, waste streams, etc.)
  • Assist in establishing timelines and budgets for projects
  • Identify and coordinate contractors/vendors to design machinery and optimize work processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of directly related industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with Data/Automation/Controls engineers
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams of ~5 engineers
  • Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Must be a US Person as defined by § 120.62 of the ITAR
