Sr. Cellular Engineer

About the role

Specialize in public and private cellular technologies in enterprise, retail, and manufacturing environments. This role will provide private wireless solution design, implementation, and support. The engineer will ensure compliance with established system architecture, regulations, and security policies, follow standards and best practices, and author and maintain support documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support LTE/5G Radio Access & Core network
• Perform onsite surveys and RF propagation modeling
• System capacity and performance planning to scale
• Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of wireless solution
• Troubleshoot network problems related to latency, client connectivity, and mobility
• Manage end-to-end deployment, including coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are fulfilled
• Manage site alarms, software upgrades for Baseband and core nodes, and post-upgrade validation
• Work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays
• 15% travel required as necessary

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in LTE/5G/CBRS Radio Access Network
• Experience with indoor/DAS/Small cells implementation and thorough understanding of CBRS band and its dependencies
• Experience with IP networking, L2/L3 network protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, QoS, NAT
• Experience managing vendors and suppliers, and experience with low-voltage cabling and fiber termination (MDF/IDF)
• Worked on at least one of the following design tools: Atoll, Planet Mentum, ASSET, or iBwave
• Extensive experience with RF principles, cellular, and RF tools
• Experience with private wireless client development and POC (e.g., AGV, wireless torque tools, laptops, tablets, scanners, cameras, PLC communications)
• Experience with enterprise wireless solutions
• Experience developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics
• Experience with private cellular network vendors is a plus
