Sr CEI Inspector

HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a Senior CEI Inspector with experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), particularly on Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) projects. Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors.
• Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Set own project deadlines and provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Track quality assurance progress and provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
• Assigned to work in Murfreesboro or Chattanooga, TN.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related CEI experience, including work on TDOT projects.
• Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold.
• Must be trustworthy and responsible.
• Daily travel and/or overnight stays may be required depending on project needs.
• Valid TN Driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.

• TDOT Aggregate Certified Testing Technician.
• TDOT Concrete Certified Field Technician.
• TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Plant Technician.
• TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Roadway Technician.
• Nuclear Radiation Safety certification.
• Tennessee Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
