CEI Inspector

Your Impact

This role will be a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor or Manager.

• Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners.
• Supervises a team of inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance.
• Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues.
• Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret construction contract language.
• Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule.
• Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals.
• Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve.
• Lead construction meetings with clients and contractors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Previous experience as a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor or Transportation Construction Manager on road and bridge infrastructure required, PennDOT projects is preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects.
• Requires progressive work-related experience.
• Requires advanced knowledge of construction practices and principles.
• Must be able to interpret plans, standards, and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction specifications and plans.
• Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Must have a working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of PennDOT or PTC specification and standards is required.
• Able to effectively lead a team of inspectors.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Preferred Certifications: NICET Level 2 or Higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous, NECEPT Concrete.

Physical Requirements
