About the role
The Senior Category Sourcing Manager will support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing, and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Leo objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing, and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Leo objectives.
- Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Use industry and relevant data analysis, create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology, business unit, department, or project to help internal customers meet their goals.
- Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and others.
- Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and industry developments that benefit Amazon’s customers.
- Influence suppliers' processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations.
- Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable on-time delivery.
- Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
- Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals.
- Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.
- 6+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of related industry experience.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company.
- Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
- Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction.
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners.
- Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent).

Pay
$147,900.00 - $200,100.00 USD annually
