About the role
This position focuses on procurement of products including DRAM, DIMMs, Nand/NOR Flash, and SSDs. The Senior Buyer will also support procurement for SSD Controllers, PCBs, Registers, Passives, Connectors, and manage sub-contractor business such as Tape & Reel and Conformal Coating.
Responsibilities
- Analyze demand/MRP data through Oracle ERP system daily to determine optimal safety stock, inventory levels, and order quantities using supply base and commodity-specific knowledge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with core vendors through daily communication and quarterly product roadmap/supply-demand review meetings; establish relationships with Brokers/Distributors.
- Execute timely purchasing transactions to meet company quality, schedule, cost, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to continuously reduce costs and inventory levels.
- Determine root causes of parts shortages and implement solutions.
- Resolve quality issues with purchased materials alongside QA and Engineering; issue RMAs and deploy corrective process improvements with vendors.
- Maintain purchasing-related data in Oracle ERP system and run monthly reports; develop new reports based on management requests.
- Work closely with Planning and Sales teams to align forecast data with purchases and measure accuracy.
- Manage excess products through multiple open-market channels.
- Collect and analyze Memory market trends, providing timely updates to management.
- Handle Indirect Purchase Requisitions (IPR) for all non-inventory purchasing.
- Perform quarterly cost updates for all materials and inventory items in the system.
- Set up new vendors with Sanmina VCCS team.
- Resolve pending vendor payments with Sanmina Accounts Payable.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews.
- Prepare for internal/external audits such as ISO and AS9100.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing purchasing and materials control, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Semiconductor Memory business experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
This is an ITAR facility; applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Pay
Annual salary range: $72,000 – $85,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills.
