Key Accountabilities
- Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents
- Aid in the development of Commodity Team strategies aligned with Global Purchasing and Logistics objectives
- Create sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance
- Aggressively address all pricing, invoicing, and contract-related issues with suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts with suppliers
- Analyze supplier cost/pricing information and benchmark competitors
- Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers
- Support cost-saving initiatives
- Support the implementation of a standardized process approach using digitalization, common forms, measurements, and structure
- Forecast annual material, purchasing volumes, annual savings, tooling costs, and repair budgets
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- Comply with company/professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observance of confidentiality
- Promote a compliance culture within the area of responsibility and adhere to the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
- Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Materials Management, or Business Finance, and 5 years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; or 9 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management
- Ability to travel - domestic and international on a limited basis and learn commodity processes at supplier locations
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling confidential sensitive matters with discretion
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
- Excellent working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer
- Excellent ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents
- Knowledge of production planning, supply chain, and/or materials management processes
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Specific knowledge of Off-Highway Diesel Engine commodities, materials, and products
- SAP experience
- German language skills
