Sr. Buyer

About the Role

Crayola, a beloved brand inspiring creativity since 1903, is seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our team in Easton, PA. As a Sr. Buyer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that drive measurable improvements in consumer satisfaction, compliance, supplier diversity, and cost benefits.

Responsibilities

• Determine the sourcing, selection, and procurement of products and services within assigned categories.
• Negotiate financial contractual agreements for products and services.
• Develop commercial terms, conditions, contracts, and agreements while coordinating with legal counsel.
• Investigate and implement alternative sourcing options to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers on timelines, samples, regulatory, safety, quality, and specifications for product launches.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations and service level requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance and recommend corrective action plans when necessary.
• Analyze market trends and changes in business practices to recommend alternative solutions.
• Collaborate with business partners on new product introductions and line extensions.
• Establish standard costs and analyze purchase price variances against financial corporate standards.
• Partner with Hallmark Global Procurement to maximize cost and supplier relationship opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with purchasing policies and practices.
• Participate in Hallmark’s Supplier Diversity Program.
• Manage commercial contract reviews and act as a liaison between Legal, Information Security, and Business Units.
• Support sustainability surveys, goals, and projects, including collecting and providing sustainability data to key customers.
• Oversee natural gas and electricity hedging reviews and authorizations.
• Manage Crayola’s indirect spend.
• Lead Crayola’s sustainable projects as a member of the Hallmark Sustainability Strategy Team.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years’ experience in Sourcing, Contract Negotiation, or Supply Chain, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Management (Logistics/Supply Chain/Sourcing), Engineering, or Project Management with minimum four years’ experience in a related role.
• Strong analytical, project management, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
• Experience in Low-Cost Global sourcing and procurement preferred.
• Knowledge of Engineering beneficial.
• Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ISM certification a plus.

Physical Requirements

The role requires frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, with occasional walking, handling objects, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
