About the Role

As a strategic leader within the Customer Data team, you will own the end-to-end development of a high-visibility data product strategy designed to sharpen insights, refine segmentation, and personalize decision-making at the individual customer level. You will focus on developing and tracking key metrics that drive customer value, enabling better marketing and servicing decisions for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
  • Leadership: Manage and develop multiple analysts. Coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
  • Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product-level data modeling and analytics.
  • Marketing: Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies.
  • Credit Risk: Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis.
  • Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One, including IT, Sales, Operations, and Finance, to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience performing quantitative analysis
  • At least 5 years of experience performing qualitative analysis
  • At least 3 years of experience performing people management
  • At least 3 years of experience performing project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in people management
  • 3+ years of experience in product development
  • 3+ years of experience in financial modeling
  • 3+ years of experience in economic forecasting

Skills

  • Strategic and analytic orientation: Proven track record of decision-making and problem-solving based on analytics. Strong quantitative skills to complement conceptual thinking.
  • Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity: Tenacious decision-maker with an aggressive yet responsible approach to business.
  • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage high-performing teams and business partners across the enterprise. Foster innovation, drive critical decisions, and hold business partners accountable.
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication, strategic influencing skills, and ability to drive agreement through intellect and negotiation.
  • Clear results orientation: Intense focus on achieving both short- and long-term goals. Ability to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
  • Track record of thriving in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environments. Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.

  • McLean, VA: $269,600 - $307,700
  • Richmond, VA: $245,100 - $279,800
  • New York, NY: $294,100 - $335,700

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
