Primary Duties

  • Reviews new development plats and works closely with operations to determine gas infrastructure design, estimated costs, and projected growth.
  • Prepares feasibility studies on growth development opportunities and recommends proposal terms to management for approval.
  • Negotiates and secures beneficial growth opportunities with developers and prepares and executes contracts as necessary.
  • Serves as liaison during infrastructure construction and maintains strong business relationships with builders and developers within the assigned territory.
  • Proactively records interactions with stakeholders and promotes the company’s programs and services to both internal and external stakeholders to influence natural gas buying decisions and promote natural gas for environmental, sustainable solutions.
  • Buils and manages relationships with channel partners, such as gas appliance dealers, plumbers, and HVAC dealers, and develops a strong gas dealer network in assigned work area.
  • Promotes the company’s programs and services to influence natural gas buying decisions and execute well-defined business development programs to maximize customer retention, stakeholder engagement, and grow market share.
  • Pursues main conversion and short main extension customer growth opportunities and manages division’s Energy Efficiency program (where applicable).
  • Supports third-party administrators of the Energy Efficiency program for residential and commercial customers to take advantage of rebates offered.
  • Tracks building permit and new construction activity in assigned areas and attends Planning and Zoning meetings to stay abreast of all residential and commercial development activity.
  • Utilizes market analytics to gauge success and identify future market opportunities and key growth corridors.
  • Develops and presents plans to management, communicating market results and recommendations to increase market share.
  • Manages assigned residential and commercial accounts to ensure services delivered meet customer expectations.
  • Attends industry-related meetings and conferences (e.g., local HBA’s, state associations, ESC, SGA, etc.) and presents important industry-related information as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational/Experience Level: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and two years of related experience; or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers/stakeholders to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical, environmental, or other complex concepts and proactively advocate for continued/increased usage of natural gas.
  • Numeric Skills: Ability to perform analysis involving financial investments, ratios, percentages, and statistical methods.
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, financial analysis, reports, and/or graphics.
  • Physical Demands: Occasional bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and/or lifting.
  • Work Conditions: Works in indoor and outdoor environments, requires occasional travel, and availability outside of business hours to respond to customer/business needs as needed.
