About the role

The Senior Business Analyst supports all phases of application development—analysis, requirements, functional testing, user acceptance testing, and customer rollout—for the Consumer Products portfolio. This role serves as a central liaison between the internal IT department, third-party vendors, and business users, ensuring solutions align with and fully meet business needs. The portfolio includes royalty/licensing, financial accounting sub-ledger, and license/agent portals with forecasting, deal memo, and product development applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis to ensure solutions meet business needs, requiring a high level of coordination and multitasking.
  • Provide ongoing support by responding to inquiries and system issues, analyzing problems, and ensuring prompt resolution with minimal business impact.
  • Monitor issue resolution progress and project status, escalating critical issues to management for timely decisions.
  • Support production and project success through requirements authoring, testing functionality ahead of UAT, coordinating user acceptance testing, and user training.
  • Lead and participate in requirements gathering sessions, proactively drawing out stakeholder needs.
  • Create requirements documentation, including use cases, and collaborate with development leads on functional designs/specifications for stakeholder approval.
  • Write test cases, plan testing cycles, and participate in testing activities for smaller projects; collaborate with internal QA teams for larger projects.
  • Assist project managers with day-to-day project management tasks, such as developing plans, communicating with team members, managing schedules, and ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Facilitate communication between business, IT, and external vendors to resolve user issues efficiently.
  • Manage vendor work and communicate effectively in written and oral formats to represent user and organizational requirements.
  • Build productive relationships with internal customers through active listening, clarification, and responsive communication.
  • Ensure implementation activities align with business strategy and objectives by collaborating closely with business users.
  • Assist in defining scope and priorities for system initiatives (new projects and ongoing maintenance).
  • Translate business objectives into configuration and system development requirements, partnering with key users and technical resources throughout the SDLC.

Requirements

  • Experience with accounting/sub-ledger systems.
  • Strong desire to understand client business and technology needs.
  • Ability to multitask between production support, issue analysis, requirements management, testing, project tracking, and client communication with minimal management intervention.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong client-handling skills, including working with mid-level management within the client portfolio.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to conceptualize current requirements against future plans.
  • Aptitude for understanding work processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Working knowledge of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with third-party packages.
  • 5+ years in business analysis and a BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related fields (desired).
  • CCBA certification (desired).
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following systems in the Consumer Products Licensing space:
    • Royalties/Licensing Management
    • Financial Sub-ledgers
    • Rights Management
    • Contract Management
    • Deal Management
    • Forecasting
    • Product Development
    • Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, Platform)
  • Media & Entertainment and financial experience (preferred).

Skills

  • Consumer Products business knowledge (mandatory).
