About the role
GovCIO is hiring a Sr. Business Analyst to serve as the primary interface between Government stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams. This role ensures mission requirements are accurately translated into effective technology solutions, leading business process analysis, requirements elicitation, backlog management, and solution validation while supporting Agile software development. The Sr. BA will also oversee continuity and alignment with other programs under the portfolio. This is a fully remote position within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, including program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls.
- Provide technical and functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, developing, and supporting systems, bridging business knowledge with IT needs.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and requirements workshops.
- Drive cross-program alignment on requirements, standardize and improve BA processes, and ensure consistent, high-quality business analysis practices across multiple programs.
- Document business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and business rules.
- Ensure all requirements are complete, traceable, testable, and aligned with program objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and development teams during Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to prioritize work and clarify requirements.
- Validate delivered capabilities through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Review test coverage and support defect resolution.
- Verify compliance with approved business requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain project documentation and support organizational change initiatives.
- Provide leadership by mentoring junior Business Analysts.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and promote Agile best practices.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality business analysis artifacts.
- May oversee junior to mid-level Business Analysts across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience).
- 8+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- 5+ years supporting Agile software development.
- Experience with enterprise systems, stakeholder engagement, and requirements management.
- Experience working across programs to ensure continuity with other teams.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is highly desirable.
Pay
USD $110,000.00 – USD $130,000.00 per year.
