Sr BioMed Field Service Engineer - San Diego, CA
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Biomedical Field Engineer to cover the San Diego, CA territory. This position includes a company-provided vehicle for business travel within the assigned territory. The role involves providing installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for all territory’s modalities and models at customer sites. You will operate independently with minimal oversight and handle varied, non-routine problems to drive customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory.
- Diagnoses, evaluates, calibrates, and repairs nonfunctioning devices to OEM standards for assigned models, including advanced repairs guided by documented processes.
- Installs new medical devices, demo units, and loaners per OEM standards, acting as installation team leader when applicable.
- Leverages technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, document completed work, and utilize diagnostic tools.
- Consistently exceeds assigned KPIs while adhering to operational procedures and work instructions.
- Maintains compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements, including training, test equipment calibration, inventory management, and documentation standards.
- Maintains accountability for assigned company assets (vehicle, inventory, test equipment) and reports damage or maintenance needs promptly.
- Works at varying locations, travels as required, and adjusts work hours (including non-standard hours) to meet customer and business needs.
- Mentors and up-skills new team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in biomedical or electronic field service; Draeger experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently and achieve assigned goals.
- Strong customer communication skills and ability to interpret technical documentation to diagnose/resolve equipment issues.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Pay
The targeted pay range for this position is $35.96 - $44.17 per hour. Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective factors. Additional compensation includes annual bonus, overtime pay, and on-call pay.
