About the role

As a Field Engineering Specialist in the Roche Support Network, you will travel within your assigned territory to provide exceptional technical support, including repair, installation, and preventative maintenance for Roche product lines. You will serve as the primary customer contact for technical and service-related issues, diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, and document all activities to contribute to quality improvement and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Document all service activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related inquiries.
  • Act as an internal technical resource and provide support after hours, on weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships within the assigned territory (San Diego area).

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, networking, or wireless networking. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1–2 years of progressive experience.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel, within the San Diego territory.
  • Must reside in the San Diego area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position in California is $71,000 to $132,000, with actual pay determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
