What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing internal reports and analyses of corporate accruals and related expenses and preparing journal entries for the related analyses (e.g., defined benefit plans, 401K, group insurance, deferred compensation, share-based compensation, et al.)
- Assisting the Employee Benefits Accounting manager with reviewing actuarial reports for defined benefit plans and stock compensation data in order to prepare the necessary support for financial statement updates and SEC disclosures for Form 10-Q/K presentation.
- Assisting the Employee Benefits Accounting manager with the annual audit and filing of our 401K savings plan annual report on Form 11-K.
- Identify areas of improvements in the monthly and quarterly period end close process and suggest process improvements.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Employee Benefits Accounting Manager as a Sr. Benefits Accountant, this role will play an integral part in the preparation of the Company’s monthly and quarterly financial statements and prepare analyses for the Company’s employee benefit arrangements, including pension, postretirement, health insurance, and/or stock-based compensation.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 4 or more years of experience in public accounting firm, and/or within a medium to large company’s consolidation/reporting team.
- SEC experience is a plus, not required.
- Accounting experience with pension and postretirement benefits or stock based compensation.
- A high degree of proficiency with excel and other Microsoft Office products with ability to retrieve data, manipulate such data and create useful analytical information.
- A high-level understanding of consolidation tools (OneStream, HFM) or ERP systems (Oracle Finance, JDE, PowerBI, etc.) is plus.
- Strong communication, presentation skills, and can adjust and work effectively in a dynamic, changing, and collaborative environment.
- A strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies.
Qualifications

Pay
- Accountant VI: $88,000 - $99,000
- Sr. Accountant: $104,800 - $117,900, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position and is available locally in either our Corporate satellite office in beautiful Charlotte, NC or our Corporate headquarters in Hartsville, SC, which is close to exciting destinations (Myrtle Beach, SC Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC).
