Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a contract position based in Irwindale, California. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, guiding close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation while maintaining compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Manage general ledger activity by analyzing account balances, investigating variances, and resolving discrepancies
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to confirm accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of financial transactions
• Complete bank reconciliations and follow through on outstanding items to keep cash records current and accurate
• Support accounting operations in a manufacturing setting by monitoring financial activity tied to inventory, production, or related transactions
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, clarify accounting issues, and improve the reliability of monthly reporting
• Utilize SAP to record, review, and track accounting transactions while supporting efficient financial processes

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for month-end close activities
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation
• Hands-on experience completing bank reconciliations and researching reconciling items
• Proficiency with SAP and the ability to navigate accounting transactions and reporting functions effectively
• Background supporting accounting processes within a manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting accuracy
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
