We are looking for an experienced Sr. Azure Consultant to support and lead cloud infrastructure efforts in a Microsoft Azure Government Cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud engineering initiatives by translating business needs into technical plans and guiding delivery from design through implementation.
- Provide ongoing administration, monitoring, and issue resolution for the existing Azure Government Cloud environment supporting a large multi-site user base.
- Direct the planning and deployment of Azure ExpressRoute connectivity to establish secure, dedicated network access for county operations.
- Oversee the consolidation of multiple Azure Government environments into a unified tenant structure with strong governance and operational alignment.
- Coordinate the migration of mission-critical applications into the target Azure environment while minimizing risk and avoiding service interruption.
- Partner with network and security teams to align Palo Alto firewall policies, VPN connectivity, and hybrid access requirements with the evolving cloud architecture.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, project updates, and status communications for stakeholders, business teams, and leadership.
- Recommend Azure best practices related to architecture, security, performance, and long-term cloud strategy within a public sector setting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure in cloud engineering, administration, or infrastructure-focused consulting roles.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects involving cloud implementation, architecture, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong background in Azure Government Cloud or similarly regulated cloud environments.
- Experience with cloud operations, troubleshooting, and day-to-day platform administration.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto firewall technologies, VPN connectivity, and hybrid network security concepts.
- Ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into practical technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills with experience managing expectations, documenting work, and presenting technical guidance clearly.
- Experience supporting government, county, or other public sector organizations is preferred.
