About the Team

The Fraud team is looking for a Strategy & Operations Sr. Associate to reduce the cost of fraud and build solutions to protect our platform from would-be fraudsters. You’ll specifically be focused on creating our strategy and executing against ambitious goals around reducing Dasher fraud, and become a point person for understanding Dasher behavior that suggests fraud. You'll investigate cases of fraud and brainstorm solutions to reduce fraud in the long-term. Most importantly, you'll help promote the delicate balance between providing our users the best experience possible while keeping bad actors at bay.

You are a data-driven truth seeker and strategic operator. You combine business context and analytics to identify problem areas and implement tailored solutions, while aligning others, empowering teams, and driving collaboration across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement DoorDash’s strategy in Dasher fraud and be responsible for delivering direct business impact to DoorDash.
  • Analyze fraud vectors across DoorDash's platform – complete end-to-end analysis that allows us to better identify the bad actors on our platform and improve the experience of good users.
  • Influence and engage across the company – partner with the product, engineering, analytics, and cross-functional teams to establish goals and build strategic programs.
  • Improve through experimentation – use data-driven decision-making to run tests on everything to reduce fraud while accelerating growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, technology, investment banking, analytics, or related experience; high-growth experience preferred.
  • Interest in operating in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment.
  • Experience contributing to large projects, hitting goals, and succeeding in a team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills; proficiency in SQL and expertise in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets/sheets) are required.
  • Ability to thoughtfully consider multiple perspectives and effectively communicate them to drive understanding and alignment.

Pay

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the range of $87,000—$128,000 USD and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Schedule

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.

For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g., about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g., about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
