Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director, Community Engagement is responsible for successfully planning and managing fundraising events for the CHOC Foundation. This includes events such as the CHOC Walk in the Park, CHOC Gala, CHOC Charity Classic, CHOC Talks Mental Health Luncheon, CHOC Night at the Honda Center, and CHOC Walk related fundraising events. They ensure these events are within budget, meet financial objectives, and appropriately represent CHOC Children's to the donor community.

Responsibilities

  • Implement sponsorship development strategies
  • Plan and execute event logistics
  • Communicate planning and execution
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Recruit and administer volunteers
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual and corporate gifts for sponsorships and in-kind donations
  • Achieve an annual fundraising goal of $2+ million while adhering to fundraising best practices and benchmarks

Requirements

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in developing, managing, and planning fundraising events
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary education
  • Knowledge of planning, production, and management of large, small, high-profile, and less-formal events for diverse and distinguished guests
  • Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Personal fundraising track record of individual and corporate major gifts and sponsorship
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud Luminate, and Convio
  • Working knowledge of social/digital media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, and blogs
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced fundraising environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 200 lbs, and perform lateral transfers up to 200 lbs
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend other events on behalf of the organization

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum $71,802, Midpoint $107,702, Maximum $143,582

Schedule

Day Shift (08:00 AM - 04:00 PM)
